February 19th, 2013:

Dear Family and friends,
I met Dinu and his family on my sabbatical in the Fall of 2009. He lives in a village outside of Bodh Gaya, in the state of Bihar, the poorest state in India, which makes it an even more difficult situation for women. One path out of poverty is education, and one path to a more peaceful society is to educate the girls.  I have been committed to helping Dinu’s sister, Rajni, with her educational expenses. She now goes to a better school and has been doing very well academically. Dinu writes to me all the time expressing his gratitude for helping his sister.

Many of you have helped with this endeavor, and I am thankful. By the end of February I will be sending Dinu the funds for another year of education for Rajni (it costs $440 a year). Any support you can give would be appreciated.

If you are willing to help out financially, Please
send a check to:
