4/8 and 4/9: Paula and Dee

April 8th
In the morning I walked to the area just net to mine called Testaccio. There is this large, indoor market with dozens of little shops, selling fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, clothes, shoes, kitchen supplies, as well as prepared food, such as coffee shops, bakeries, and cafeterias.

My cousin Paula and her boyfriend Dee had been planning a trip to Spain and Portugal, but when they heard I was going to Rome, they added a few weeks to their trip and planned an adventure around Italy as well.

For the next 2 days, all we did was hang out, walked around, ate food, and talked. It was the first conversations I had in a week, and it was so good to not only share ideas, but to also see Rome with someone else. After hanging out on the balcony, we walked to the old Jewish quarter and had dinner.

Paula and Dee's Airbnb is about an hour walk from mine. On my morning walk to their Airbnb, I passed a number of sites.

Forum of Caesar (in the Forum)

Victor Emmanuel II Monument (nest to the Forum)

Paula, Dee, and I spent the day together. We walked to a number of churches, as well as Vatican City, ate Pizza in Trastevere, and then said our goodbyes over wine on their balcony. It was such a nice 2 days.
