May 10th:
Arrived in Hanoi
We arrived in Hanoi last night. We got to our hotel pretty late
- 9 pm. Since we only had the opportunity to snack at the airport for dinner, a
lot of students were still hungry. I took a group of students out to my
favorite restaurant, a little outdoor place where you sit on little
plastic stools on the street. Last year we ate there often - delicious eel and
frog legs. Last night they were out of eel, so we went with squid and frog legs
and fried noodles with beef. It was delicious, and I love the atmosphere. Then
Eli and his crew showed up at the restaurant (they are staying at a different
hotel), so after an hour apart (the bus from the airport), we had a little
reunion. I love this city!
