Havelis

Havelis, or mansions, are everywhere in Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer used to be on the main trade route from Central Asia, but the partition of British India and the wars with Pakistan ended the wealth of the city. While wandering through the little alley-like ways, one repeatedly comes across these beautiful buildings - many are 300 years old. There might be a shop selling toilet paper on the street level, and looking up you see incredibly detailed stone archways or balconies.
