More from Pushkar

The Sikh Temple

This was a very nice man, the president of the interfaith council of Pushkar, who explained some of the basic tenets of the Sikh religion to Alli and I.

Chabad House has been hosting celebrations every evening for Chanukah. It is very strange seeing the sand bags and two soldiers with rifles guarding the building.

It was "wedding season" in Pushkar - celebrations everywhere, some of them lasting all night long. Here, people are holding electrics lights as the wedding procession slowly makes it way through the streets of Pushkar. There are drummers and dancers in the front of the procession, followed by guests in beautiful saris, then the groom riding a horse, and finally a man pushing a wagon with a very loud generator, giving electricity to the lights.
